Shopify speed optimisation

Shopify speed work starts at $540 (12 hours at $45) and usually takes 1 to 2 weeks, measured with Lighthouse before and after.

I find what slows your Shopify store and fix it: leftover app code, render-blocking scripts, oversized images and heavy Liquid, measured with Lighthouse and Core Web Vitals before and after. It's for stores whose mobile pages load slowly or fail Core Web Vitals. Speed work starts at $540 (12 hours at $45) and usually takes 1 to 2 weeks.

Who it's for

  • Stores with low mobile Lighthouse scores or failing Core Web Vitals in Search Console
  • Stores that have installed and removed a lot of apps over the years
  • Brands about to spend on ads that want their landing pages fast first

What you get

  • Baseline Lighthouse runs on mobile and desktop for the home, collection, product and cart pages
  • Code left behind by uninstalled apps removed, and non-critical scripts deferred
  • Images served with image_url, srcset and sizes, lazy loading below the fold and the main image loaded first
  • Render-blocking CSS and font loading fixed
  • Heavy Liquid loops and unused sections cleaned up
  • A before and after report with the scores and every change I made

How it works

  1. 01 Baseline measurements on four page types
  2. 02 A ranked list of fixes with hour estimates, and you approve which ones I do
  3. 03 Fixes on a duplicate theme, tested and re-measured
  4. 04 Publish, then re-test the live store

1 to 2 weeks for most stores, which is 12 to 30 hours of work.

When you don't need me

If your store already scores well and still doesn't sell, speed isn't the bottleneck; look at your product pages and offer first. And if a slow third-party app is essential to your business, I can reduce what it costs in load time but I can't remove it. I'll tell you the realistic ceiling after the baseline.

Questions

Not before I've measured your store. Third-party apps, tracking scripts and the theme set the ceiling. After the baseline I'll tell you the score range I expect and which apps are holding it back.

Lighthouse is a lab test of one page load on a simulated phone. Core Web Vitals (LCP, INP and CLS) come from real Chrome users visiting your store, and they're the numbers Google uses in search. I report both.

I make every change on a duplicate theme and test it there, then publish once you've checked it. If an app stops working after a change, I roll that change back.

No. Speed work starts with its own baseline. Book the $450 audit if you also want accessibility checked and a written report you can share.
