Migration to Shopify
Migrations to Shopify start at $1,350 (30 hours at $45) and usually take 2 to 4 weeks, with a 301 redirect for every old URL.
I move stores to Shopify for merchants leaving WooCommerce, BigCommerce, Wix or Magento: products, customers, order history and a 301 redirect for every old URL. I moved Sweet Zzz Mattress from BigCommerce in two weeks with zero customer-facing disruption. A migration starts at $1,350 (30 hours at $45) and usually takes 2 to 4 weeks.
Who it's for
- WooCommerce stores that want to stop managing hosting and plugin updates
- BigCommerce stores moving to Shopify
- Wix and Magento stores moving to Shopify (read the note below on what I've done on each platform)
What you get
- Products, variants, images, collections, customers and order history moved
- Pages, blog posts, SEO titles and meta descriptions carried over
- 301 redirects from every old product, category and page URL
- Your store set up on a theme you choose; a rebuild of your current design is quoted separately as a custom theme
- Payments, shipping, taxes and notification emails set up and tested with test orders
- Launch day: domain switched, redirects checked, sitemap submitted in Search Console
- A list of your current apps or plugins with a Shopify replacement for each
How it works
- 01 An inventory of your data, URLs, plugins and integrations
- 02 A fixed quote in hours at $45
- 03 A trial import into a development store, plus the redirect map
- 04 Theme and settings, then a full run of test orders
- 05 A final data sync and launch, with redirects checked on the day
2 to 4 weeks for most stores, which is 30 to 80 hours of work. Sweet Zzz moved in two weeks.
When you don't need me
My migration proof is strongest for BigCommerce. I've built WordPress and WooCommerce sites, so I know how WooCommerce stores its data. I haven't moved a store off Wix or Magento yet. The Shopify side and the redirects work the same way, but I'd scope those after seeing your export, and a large Magento store with many custom extensions is better off with a team that specialises in Magento. If you only sell a handful of products, Shopify's own import tools may be all you need.

FAQ
Questions
Rankings can dip for a few weeks after any platform move. Redirecting every old URL to its new page, keeping your titles and descriptions, and submitting the new sitemap on launch day keep that dip small. I build the redirect map before launch and check it on the day.
No. Your old store keeps selling while I build the new one, and the switch is a domain change on launch day. Sweet Zzz went live with zero customer-facing disruption.
Shopify can't import passwords from another platform. If you use Shopify's new customer accounts, customers sign in with a one-time code sent to their email, so imported customers can log in without setting a password.
For large catalogues I'd use an import app such as Matrixify, which moves the data faster and with fewer mistakes than manual work, and you pay its fee directly. A small catalogue can go through Shopify's own CSV imports. Either way, I do the mapping, the clean-up and the checks.
